Ekiga is a VoIP application that also supports videoconferencing. The program has support for voice protocols like SIP or H.323, that give great possibilities and functions: call waiting, transfers and diverts, etc.
With videoconferencing, Ekiga allows diverse codecs of both audio and video, always keeping a high quality. However, you can also choose if you want to use medium or high quality codecs, to regulate the bandwidth used, and adapt to all types of connections.
You can also communicate via instant messaging in the usual way, with text. Also, Ekiga is compatible with various telephone service providers.
